SUMMARY

Direct oversight of asphalt and construction aggregates production, and paving construction crews for this regional operation.  Manage operations through a team of functional managers and front line supervisors. Ensures increasing levels of customer and employee satisfaction while improving the efficiency of manpower, materials and machines.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manages policy deployment in the areas of quality, cost reduction, complete and on-time delivery, safety, customer satisfaction, employee relations, visual controls and plant performance measures.
  • Provides leadership for employee relations through effective communications, coaching, training, and development.
  • Provides leadership for problem resolution to facilitate faster improvements and improved working relationships.
  • Manages material requirements to increase inventory turns and reduce levels on hand.
  • Ensures compliance with company standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety, and complete and on-time delivery
  • Provides leadership through a 3-6 month planning cycle.
  • Determines operations headcount needs and ensures compliance with company policies.
  • Balances work cell capacity/loading across the plant.
  • Ensures compliance with company needs for capital investments and improvement projects.
  • Manages compliance with state and federal regulations (MSHA, DEC and OSHA).
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to oversee ambitious five year plan.
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Employee training and development.
  • Technical skills in materials and inventory management, production scheduling, and preventive maintenance.
  • Quality: orientation and attention to detail.
  • Problem analysis and problem resolution.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • High performance teams and a strong team player.
  • Passing a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening and background check is required
  • MSHA and OSHA training preferred.
