Responsibilities:

Complete management responsibility for operations P&L, direction and coordination of the mining process, maintenance, crushing and milling processes for a 1M+ tpy underground mine. Plans, evaluates, implements and monitors mine plans to minimize costs and meet quality and regulatory needs for this non-union operation. Duties also include filling in for Operations Manager. Interfaces with sales and customer  service to ensure customers’ needs are being met. Evaluates production rates to best utilize equipment and labor while managing costs. Must have the ability to manage and balance plant-wide production and maintenance needs. Works with the Safety and Human Resources Manager to provide a safe workplace, and promote effective employee relations. Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university required. Bachelor’s Degree in Mining, Geological Science or Civil Engineering preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in underground stone mine engineering and management roles.
  • Deep knowledge of the crushed stone industry; experience producing products for the construction and asphalt industries is a plus.
  • Demonstrated track record of developing cost effective solutions with strong evidence of systemic thinking.
  • Strong project management skills, including budgeting, planning, monitoring capital expenditures and a strong record of accomplishment and increased scope of responsibility.
  • Must be a strong communicator, willing to frankly discuss performance issues and able to motivate employees through coaching and feedback.
