Job Summary:


Provides process engineering support to company's silica sand mining and processing facilities. Identifies, plans and executes value adding studies and/or projects. Assists plant personnel in troubleshooting operational problems, optimizing yield and throughput, improving plant efficiencies, and reducing operating costs.

Responsibilities:
  • Process Engineering support to company's silica sand mining and processing facilities including, but not limited to, optimization of yield and throughput in wet processing, tailings management, sand drying, sand screening, sand pulverizing and truck loading
  • Assist plant personnel in troubleshooting operational problems
  • Develop ideas to improve efficiency and reduce costs
  • Perform process simulations to monitor and improve plant performance
  • Generate value adding ideas, demonstrating unique approaches to problem solving, while providing direction and support to Management in plant processes, without supervision. 
  • Capable of solving routine problems quickly, and relies on intermediate and advanced skills, and experience to solve challenging engineering problems. Identifies value added projects without assistance
  • Monitor dust collection efficiencies and develop ideas to improve as needed
  • Other duties as assigned by Manager
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mineral Processing, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
  • 6+ years of experience in mineral processing or related field
  • Basic computing and MS Office skills
  • Strong work initiative; must be self-motivated with keen problem solving capability
  • 50+% travel required
  • Ability to perform daily engineering job functions with little or no supervision or direction
  • Ability to collaborate with team members, supervision and support groups
